Hyderabad: The Telangana Gazetted Junior Lecturers Association (TGJLA) urged the state govt to fill around 300 vacant lecturer posts in govt junior colleges across Telangana, warning that the delay is hitting syllabus completion and students’ academic performance.A representation regarding this was submitted to the director of Intermediate education and the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) secretary Abhilasha Abhinav on Saturday.The association said that though the first- and second-year Intermediate classes began in June, only guest faculty from last year have been retained. Posts that fell vacant due to promotions of junior lecturers as principals and retirements have not been filled. Khammam alone has 26 vacancies, with similar shortages reported across other districts, it said.The demand comes days after the Telangana high court directed the govt to expedite decisions on long-pending junior lecturer service issues.
