Bokaro: The ongoing hunger strike by displaced persons against the management of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) demanding jobs ended on its 12th day on Wednesday. The strike was called off after a meeting between deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha, BSL executive director (HR) Rajshree Banerjee and Bokaro MLA Shwettaa Singh that lasted several hours.Singh, after the meeting, said the talks discussed on a proposal to accommodate BSL-trained apprentices in the recruitment policy for Class IV posts. Employment was also discussed for the brother of Prem Prasad, who died during an earlier agitation last year. Jha said the meeting was the fourth attempt to resolve the deadlock. He added that BSL would examine the proceedings and submit its reference within seven days.
