Pune: A job fair for ex-servicemen, organised by the Directorate General (Resettlement) under the department of ex-servicemen welfare of the ministry of defence, brought together hundreds of veterans and major industry recruiters at Bombay Engineering Group and Centre Kirkee on March 13.The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 620 ex-servicemen and 45 leading national and multinational companies, collectively offering nearly 2,000 job opportunities across sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure and corporate services. Major recruiters included Wirtgen group, WILO Mather and Platt Pumps, JSW steel and Cemindia projects. Officials said the fair served as an important platform for veterans to showcase their technical, managerial and administrative expertise, while enabling companies to tap into a disciplined, skilled and experienced workforce transitioning from military service to civilian careers.The job fair was inaugurated by Major General SBK Singh, SM, Director General (Resettlement), along with Major General Vishal Aggarwal, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Maharashtra and Goa Sub Area. The officers interacted with participating veterans and industry representatives to understand emerging job trends and expectations from the corporate sector.
