Srinagar, October 2: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from October 2 to 5, followed by a spell of cloudy weather, light rain and snowfall over higher reaches from October 6.
According to the latest forecast, October 6–8 is likely to remain partly to generally cloudy, with light rain, light snowfall over higher reaches, thunder and gusty winds at a few places.
The weather activity is expected to intensify slightly during October 9–10, when generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain, light snowfall over higher reaches, thunder and gusty winds are likely at scattered to many places.
The weather is expected to improve thereafter, with partly cloudy conditions forecast from October 11 to 14.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has advised farmers to continue harvesting apple and paddy crops, along with other ongoing agricultural operations, while keeping the forecasted weather changes in view.
The anticipated wet spell is likely to bring a noticeable change in weather conditions across J&K after the predominantly dry period in the first week of October.
