Jammu & Kashmir Bank has appointed former State Bank of India (SBI) General Manager Bansi Lal Saini as its Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) for a period of three years, effective July 15, 2026, according to a stock exchange filing.
“The Bank has appointed Mr. Bansi Lal Saini as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) for a period of three (3) years with effect from today i.e., 15th July, 2026,” Jammu & Kashmir Bank said in its exchange filing.
The appointment has been made pursuant to the provisions of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The bank said Saini’s tenure as CVO will commence immediately and continue for three years.
Saini brings more than three decades of banking experience, having served at SBI from September 1995 to September 2025, where he retired as General Manager. His career spans business transformation, audit, risk management, regulatory compliance and financial inclusion across multiple geographies.
In his most recent assignment, Saini headed SBI’s Circle Audit Office for the Delhi Circle, overseeing audit operations across 1,652 branches covering Delhi, Uttarakhand and parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He led internal audit teams, supervised concurrent audit frameworks, and strengthened internal control systems and compliance processes across one of the bank’s largest operational regions.
Prior to that, he served as General Manager for SBI’s Network II in Bhopal, where he managed operations across 574 branches in 31 districts of Madhya Pradesh, overseeing a business portfolio of ₹1.54 lakh crore and a workforce of more than 5,300 employees. Under his leadership, the network secured the top national ranking in financial inclusion implementation.
During his tenure at SBI, Saini also held leadership positions in Noida and Uttarakhand, managing large banking operations, government programme implementation, retail and agriculture banking, and regulatory engagement with institutions including the Reserve Bank of India and NABARD.
