Jhunjhunu: Jhunjhunu Anti-Corruption Bureau Monday caught a rural junior engineer posted at Ajmer Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited in Chirawa for allegedly accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe.The operation was conducted under ACB additional superintendent of police Narendra Poonia at the electricity department office on Khetri Road in Chirawa.According to ACB, the complainant alleged that Deepika Godara had demanded Rs 25,000 to shift an 11 kV line connected to an acquaintance’s agricultural electricity connection. The demand was confirmed during verification, after which the amount was reduced to Rs 15,000 at the complainant’s request.ACB officials said the team caught Deepika accepting Rs 15,000 from the complainant and recovered the money from a drawer in her office table.After the operation, the team took her to Chirawa police station for questioning and further proceedings. Officials said a case would be registered against her under the Prevention of Corruption Act and investigated further.
