Ranchi: The state will get some respite from the ongoing heatwave conditions in the next few days with moderate rain and thunderstorm likely at isolated places in 18 districts from Sunday, the Met office said on Saturday.On Monday, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm is likely at a few places.The weather office also issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places over northeastern and adjoining central parts of the state such as Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Giridih, Jamtara, Dhanbad and Bokaro districts from Saturday onwards.For Sunday, it issued an orange warning of hailstorms accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (50-60 kmph) at isolated places over north-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state such as Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Giridih and Bokaro. Thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over the rest of the state too, it added.On Monday and Tuesday, similar situation will prevail at isolated places over north-eastern and central parts of the state, in Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro, Koderma, Hazaribag, Ramgarh and Ranchi districts.“All these conditions will help in bringing down the maximum temperature by a couple of degrees across the state,” deputy director of Met office, Abhishek Anand, said.During the past 24 hours till Saturday morning, dry weather prevailed over the state. The highest maximum temperature of 43.6°C was recorded in Daltonganj, while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.7C was recorded in Gumla. Ranchi recorded a maximum of 39.6C and a minimum of 22.7C, the Met office said.
