Ranchi: State finance minister Radha Krishna Kishore on Wednesday announced that a decision has been taken to form a committee to review the promises made by Governor, chief minister, and finance minister in the state assembly to ensure they are implemented in the same fiscal year.Replying to the issues raised by MLAs during the discussion on state budget, Kishore said, “The committee would comprise development commissioner, finance secretary, and secretaries of one or two departments.”Brushing aside opposition’s claim that the Union govt fund was not being released as Jharkhand did not submit utilisation certificates, he said, “The Centre should send a team to the state. The latter would share information with the Centre about the cases, where funds have been held up despite submission of the certificate. Hemant Soren-led govt wants to bring smile on the face of every people. A significant allocation has been made in the social sector. The establishment expenditure has been increased in order to recruit more manpower in the state govt.”Earlier in the day, the ruling and opposition benches debated on the 2026-27 fiscal.JMM MLA Anant Pratap Dev said, “The budget was framed keeping in view the people at the last rung of society. It is for villagers, poor, and farmers, and a live document for inclusive development.”Congress MLA Rameshwar Oroan said, “The budget would develop the state, empower women, and promote health and tourism. The capital expenditure has been increased and the deficit is within limits.”BJP MLA Raj Sinha said, “An amount of 1,28,900 crore was allocated in state budget in 2023-24, Rs 1,45,400 crore in 2025-26, and Rs 1,58,560 crore in 2026-27. The increase in new budget was a mere 9% as compared to 13% in the previous one. The budget also doesn’t mention about govt promises, including procurement price of Rs 3,200 per quintal paddy, Rs 450 per gas cylinder and 10 lakh employment, and others. Many schemes of the govt are incomplete.”Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan raised the issue of pending water supply to Deoghar town through the Punasi water dam. Minister Sudivya Kumar said projects were awaiting forest clearance.During the zero hour, Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee raised the issue of a new airport in Dhanbad. Minister Deepak Birua said an airport is available in Bokaro, located at a distance of 50 km from Dhanbad.
