Jhansi: A 40-year-old woman, along with two men, including her paramour, was arrested in Jhansi for allegedly murdering her 44-year-old husband. The body of Jaghbhan Kushwaha, a railway vendor from Lalitpur’s Talbehat area, was found near Jhansi railway station on Feb 1. He had left home for work the night before. According to SP City Priti Singh, a case was lodged against an unknown person under Section 103(1), 61(2)a of BNS and Section 3/25/27 Arms Act at Nawabad police station. During the investigation, it emerged that Jaghbhan’s wife, Kiran, befriended Shiv Kumar Lodhi of Umrikala village through a social media platform. Both fell in love and started meeting occasionally when her husband went out for work.Kiran allegedly funded Shiv to buy a gun to eliminate Jaghbhan. On Jan 31, Shiv and Dharmendra Lodhi intercepted Kushwaha, lured him to a secluded spot near the railway station, and shot him dead, the SP said.The accused fled after the murder. Further investigation revealed Kiran and Shiv’s phone connection, and Kiran’s changing statements raised suspicions. She eventually cracked under pressure, confessing her husband’s abuse led her to fall for Shiv, and together they plotted Jaghbhan’s murder. Kiran and Shiv, who fell in love six months ago, and Dharmendra were arrested near the Raksa bypass. It also emerged that Shiv murdered his previous girlfriend in 2024 and went to jail, but was later released on bail.
