Patna: The ancestral house of JD(U) state general secretary and former spokesperson Sanjay Kant Sinha was burgled in Nalanda district late on Saturday night. According to the family, jewellery, cash and other valuables worth around Rs20 lakh were stolen. No one was present at the house at the time of the incident.Sinha’s family lives in Patna, while his ancestral house in Rupaspur village under Harnaut police station area had remained locked for about a week. Family members and domestic staff visited the house periodically for maintenance.On Sunday morning, a domestic worker who arrived to clean the house found the main door and room locks broken. He informed Sinha’s family, who then reached the village.Harnaut SHO Mukesh Kumar Verma said the burglars appeared to have taken advantage of the house being locked.“An FIR will be registered once we receive a written complaint from the victim’s family. Suspects are being questioned and the case will be solved soon,” Verma said.
