Mysuru: JD(S) youth wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Wednesday asserted that the BJP-JD(S) coalition will form the next govt in the state. JD(S) will get more than 58 assembly seats, he stated. Addressing JD(S) activists at the Janarondige convention in the Varuna assembly segment held at Mellahalli in Mysuru taluk, he attacked chief minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of betraying the JD(S) after enjoying power and joining Congress to fulfil his selfish motives and for power.Taking strong objection to the CM’s remarks on JD(S) being reduced to single digits in the state after he and others were expelled from that party, Nikhil Kumaraswamy hit back. JD(S) will return to power, winning more than 58 assembly seats, and will form the govt, he said.He also criticised Siddaramaiah, accusing him of cheating SCs and STs in the state. In the last three years, the state govt has diverted nearly Rs 29,000 crore SCP/TSP grants to guarantee schemes, he claimed.He said the state govt has failed to protect the interest of farmers and curb farmer suicides. The state recorded 2,416 farmers suicides in the last year. Mysuru district registered 136 farmers suicides in the last two years, he said.Union minister HD Kumaraswamy waived crop loans of farmers borrowed from cooperative banks and protected the interest of farmers during his tenure as the CM, Nikhil said.JD(S) will continue to protect the interest of farmers, and will form the govt with the support of BJP in 2028, he said.JD(S) working president and former minister SR Mahesh, MLA GD Harishgowda and MLC C N Manjegowda were present.
