Jaipur: Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has expanded its clean public transport network by deploying 29 newly procured electric buses on three city routes.With the latest addition, air-conditioned bus services are now available on six of JCTSL’s 27 operational routes, offering commuters more comfortable and low-emission travel options.The new electric buses have been introduced on the Transport Nagar–VKI (E-1A), Transport Nagar–Dwarkapuri (E-3) and Chomu Puliya–Kanota (E-4A) routes. JCTSL already operates AC buses on the Govindpura–Sitapura (AC-2), Dantli Phatak–Joshi Marg (AC-7) and Choti Chaupar–Dhankya (AC-8) routes.“We have kept the fare of these e-buses at par with our AC services. All concessions applicable on AC buses will also be available on these e-bus services,” said JCTSL managing director Narayan Singh.For non-AC buses, the minimum fare is Rs 10 for journeys up to 3 km, while fares range up to Rs 60 depending on distance. Women receive a 30% concession and students a 50% concession on eligible slabs.For AC and electric bus services, fares range from Rs 15 to Rs 70. Women passengers are entitled to a 30% concession, while no concession is available for students on AC services.Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma flagged off the new fleet at Amar Jawan Jyoti Saturday. The nine-metre electric buses will operate from the Bagrana depot, which has been upgraded for electric vehicle operations.
