Bilaspur: A 20-year-old JCB helper was killed and the machine operator seriously injured after a hillside collapsed onto the excavator during hill-cutting work at Ladraur near Bharari in Bilaspur district on Tuesday.The incident occurred during excavation on private land when soil and rocks suddenly fell onto the JCB, trapping both workers in the debris.The deceased was identified as Kushal, a resident of Una district. JCB operator Pankaj Bhardwaj, 26, of Sarkaghat in Mandi, suffered serious injuries.Both were taken to a nearby health centre, where doctors declared Kushal dead. Pankaj was given first aid and referred to AIIMS Bilaspur.
