Pune: A delegation from Japanese industry recently interacted with students of AISSMS College of Engineering (AISSMS COE), outlining career opportunities, workplace expectations and the skills required to secure jobs in the country, as demand for skilled engineers continues to grow in Japan.The orientation programme, titled Building Global Careers, was organised by the Centre for Information, Training and Placement (CITP) in association with the college’s International Relations Cell. It aimed to familiarise students with employment pathways in Japan and prepare them for international careers.The delegation briefed students on Japanese work culture, industry expectations, technical competencies and the recruitment process for engineering graduates. The members also met heads of departments to understand the college’s academic programmes and technical capabilities.Addressing the gathering, principal DS Bormane said international collaborations and industry partnerships are becoming increasingly important in preparing engineering graduates for global careers.“Such collaborations expose students to international opportunities and help them develop the skills needed to succeed in a competitive global job market. Students should make the most of these opportunities to broaden their professional horizons,” he said.Malojiraje Chhatrapati, honorary secretary of AISSMS, said partnerships with international organisations strengthen students’ employability while enhancing the institution’s global presence.
