Patna: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has registered a fresh FIR against alleged land mafia Guddu Yadav, his wife and Jamui Zila Parishad president Dulari Devi, 16 other alleged associates and several revenue officials in connection with the alleged grabbing of around 10 acres of govt agriculture farm land in Jamui using forged documents, officials said on Wednesday. The EOU also arrested three accused, including revenue employee Chhotelal Yadav, Pradeep Choudhary and Jawahar Prasad Yadav, during raids conducted in the Sikandra police station area late on Tuesday night.According to EOU officials, the network allegedly used dummy sellers to get parcels of land registered in the names of Guddu Yadav, Dulari Devi, their family members and associates. Investigators alleged that the land was subsequently mutated with the help of officials and later sold at market rates. The agency said the group allegedly adopted a similar modus operandi to target land belonging to the govt agriculture farm at Sikandra, which had been acquired by the Bihar agriculture department in 1959.EOU DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon said the accused allegedly secured registration of about 10 acres of govt land through 14 sale deeds executed in the names of Guddu Yadav, Dulari Devi, their relatives and associates on the basis of forged documents.“The gang, by putting up dummy persons, got about 10 acres of govt land registered through 14 deeds in the names of Guddu, Dulari, their family members and associates on the basis of forged documents,” Dhillon said.According to the investigation, two deeds, numbered 154 and 156 and dated Jan 8, 2019, allegedly purchased in the names of Guddu Yadav and Anuj Yadav, were mutated soon after registration. The EOU has alleged that the mutation was carried out without proper verification by the then revenue staff and circle officer Binod Choudhary.Several other mutation applications were reportedly rejected after local residents raised objections.Dhillon said investigators found that Dulari Devi allegedly purchased nearly seven acres through three deeds at prices significantly below govt valuation. He said one of the most significant findings of the probe was the alleged creation and use of forged documents purportedly dating back to 1924 and 1927.Apart from Guddu Yadav and his associates, the EOU has also booked former and serving revenue officials, including Chhotelal Yadav, then circle officer Binod Choudhary, and revenue officers Nibha Kumari and Mukesh Kumar Barnwal, alleging their involvement in facilitating the transactions. The investigation is continuing and further action is underway, officials said.
