Ranchi: Jamtara police on Tuesday arrested four cyber frauds for allegedly trying to dupe SP Rajkumar Mehta, by impersonating as an executive of the State Bank of India. The fraudsters called SP Mehta a few days back, citing technical issues in his SBI online app, and attempted to obtain confidential information in the name of reactivating the app. But the SP immediately exercised caution, considered the call suspicious and did not share any information. “Following the incident, police launched an investigation to track the fraudsters and nabbed four persons on Tuesday from Lakhanudih area under Karamatar police station limits. During police interrogation, the accused admitted that they had been calling people in the name of activating the app, to obtain banking information and then siphon money from accounts,” Mehta said.
