Jamshedpur: The Steel City is all set to commemorate the 187th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata (1839-1904), founder of Tata Steel and Jamshedpur, on Tuesday.Preparations are in full swing for the celebrations, which include city illumination and public access at Jubilee Park, a laser show for citizens, homage ceremonies and public exhibitions.Jubilee Park, the main attraction of the event, is all set to adorn a fairytale look, as illumination preparations are at the final stage. Besides, Sir Dorabji Tata Park, Postal Park (Bistupur), Bhagwan Birsa Munda Park (Sakchi), and Centenary Park (Tinplate) are also being decked up with colourful lights.Further, 12 key stretches of the city, which include the Kadma-Sonari link road, the CFE roundabout-CH area road, the Rankini Temple-Kadma thana stretch, and the Sakchi-Agrico road, among others, are being beautified with illumination.About 12 iconic buildings and 24 traffic islands in the urban circle will get aesthetically designed and decorated lights. On the eve of ‘founder’s day’, Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran will inaugurate the illumination.“This year’s founder’s day will be observed on the theme ‘One Vision, One Tata Steel’, highlighting unity and integration across the organisation,” said D B Sundara Ramam, VP (corporate services), Tata Steel.
