Jamshedpur: Heads of four civic bodies in Jamshedpur and Adityapur have sought a probe into alleged irregularities in sanitation services being provided by a solid waste management company. The mayors of Adityapur Municipal Corporation and Mango Municipal Corporation, and the chairpersons of Jugsalai and Kapali municipal councils on Tuesday jointly wrote to State Urban Development Agency (Suda) director Suraj Kumar and urged him to initiate a probe against Cube Adityapur Waste Management Private Limited. The firm handles over 100 tonnes of municipal waste daily from 111 wards across the four civic bodies. The demand came amid complaints of irregular waste collection and sanitation measures by residents of these civic body limits.“Adityapur is not the only municipal area facing such problems. The other three civic bodies have also been receiving similar complaints for a long time. Therefore, we all sat together and decided to take up the matter with the higher authorities,” Adityapur mayor Sanjay Sardar said.Sardar claimed the company officials ignored repeated complaints by residents against irregular garbage collection. Echoing Sardar’s concerns, Mango mayor Sudha Gupta said door-to-door waste collection remained irregular in many Mango households.
