Reacting sharply to the remarks of BJP state president Ramchander Rao’s comments, in a statement, Jagga Reddy said there was nothing wrong in holding a protest outside the PM’s residence by Congress senior leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He questioned how the BJP, after wrongly unleashing indiscriminate attacks on students, could now talk about surrounding Gandhi Bhavan. He warned that if BJP leaders targeted Gandhi Bhavan, Congress workers would in turn surround the BJP office. He added that they would also gherao Union ministers along with BJP leaders. The working president called it outrageous that students were brutally beaten for questioning the central govt, which he alleged had played with the future of lakhs of students through the NEET paper leak, and for demanding the resignation of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Jagga Reddy said Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had staged the protest outside the PM’s house to condemn this incident. Echoing Rahul Gandhi’s demand, he insisted that PM Modi must apologise to students across the country.Earlier, Jagga Reddy along with Nirmala Jagga Reddy and party workers held a bike rally in Sangareddy protesting Rahul Gandhi’s arrest and the lathi-charge on students.
