Producer and actor Jackky Bhagnani recently celebrated 27 years of the Bollywood entertainer Biwi No.1 by sharing nostalgic memories connected to the film. The celebration arrived at a time when discussions around the movie’s songs and intellectual property rights continue making headlines online. The film continues to enjoy popularity among audiences because of its comedy, songs, performances, and emotional family drama.

‘Chunnari Chunnari’ row sparks attention

The celebrations also come amid an ongoing legal dispute linked to songs associated with the film. Reports suggest that producer Vashu Bhagnani recently filed a lawsuit in Katihar, Bihar, connected to the upcoming Bollywood project ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. The dispute reportedly involves alleged unauthorised use of intellectual property tied to older hit songs from films including ‘Biwi No.1’. Meanwhile, the makers of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ released a statement on May 27 claiming that they are the rightful owners of the songs “Chunnari Chunnari” and “Ishq Sona Hai,” both of which originally featured in ‘Biwi No.1’. The controversy has once again brought public attention towards the iconic soundtrack of the 1999 blockbuster.

Jackky Bhagnani recalls childhood memories

Amid the legal discussions, Jackky Bhagnani chose to focus on celebrating the film’s legacy and the memories attached to it. Sharing the film’s poster on social media, the producer reflected on his childhood days spent on the sets of the movie. He wrote, “Wow. 27 years since Biwi No. 1 hit the screens!” Jackky also recalled watching filmmaker David Dhawan and his father Vashu Bhagnani working together during the shoot. “I still remember running around the sets as a kid, watching Dad @vashubhagnani and David uncle create absolute chaos and magic, driven by Rumi Jaffery sir’s brilliant writing,” he wrote.

Salman Khan and ensemble cast praised
