In another first round encounter, teenager Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi lost 1-6, 6-1, 0-6 to fifth seed Polina Iatcenko.
Top seed Talia Gibson advanced with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Vaidehee Chaudhari.
