The United Arab Emirates, the country which bore the brunt of Iran’s drone and missile attack on its neighbours, is now under the protection of Israel’s Iron Dome air defence system. This news was confirmed by Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel. “I’d like to say a word of appreciation for United Arab Emirates, the first Abraham accord member, just look at the benefits. Israel just sent them Iron Dome batteries and personnel to help operate them,” Huckabee said at an event in Tel Aviv.The two nations normalised relations with the signing of the Abraham Accord in 2020. the two countries are also members of a strategic partnership called the I2U2 along with India and the US. Israel and the UAE are also part of the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) corridor.
