NOIDA: “Is this the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro Max?” Two men allegedly asked a woman before fleeing with her Rs 1.6 lakh phone in Bisrakh, three days after she bought it.The incident took place near Ek Murti Chowk on Monday morning when Subhi Bhandari, a blogger, was travelling in an e-rickshaw and using the phone to make a payment to the driver.According to a complaint filed by Bhandari’s husband, Saket Gupta, the two bike-borne men approached her and asked, “Is this the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro Max?” They then requested her to hand over the phone so they could see it.Bhandari handed the phone to them, following which the men allegedly fled on their motorcycle before she could realise what had happened.The couple later approached the police and lodged a complaint. Gupta told police that the motorcycle used by the suspects did not have a number plate.Bhandari had purchased the iPhone 18 Pro Max for Rs 1.6 lakh on Friday, the day it was launched in India.A case under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pertaining to snatching, has been registered at Bisrakh police station against unidentified persons.Police teams are examining CCTV footage from the area and the route taken by the suspects to identify and trace them.
