Satellite imagery from Planet Labs in February 2026 shows Iran repositioning S-300 air defense systems around Tehran and Isfahan amid rising tensions with the United States. The deployments, highlighted by Army Recognition, suggest Tehran is restoring and reinforcing its long-range air defense network after damage during last year’s 12-day conflict. While launchers are visible near sensitive political and nuclear-linked sites, associated fire-control radars were not clearly identified, raising questions about full operational capability. Analysts say even a partially rebuilt S-300 shield, combined with indigenous systems, could complicate potential U.S. air or missile strike planning.
