Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha demanded the state govt to install the statue of Telangana idealogue Prof Jayashankar on Tank Bund before August 6, his birth anniversary. She said that even after 12 years of formation of Telangana, Jayashankar’s statue was not installed in Hyderabad.Alleging that Andhra leaders’ statues are erected in Hyderabad even now, she said that if TRS comes to power, it would send back the statues to AP. She questioned whether AP would install statues of Telangana leaders in Andhra. Kavitha also demanded the installation of statues of PV Narasimha Rao, Prof Jayashankar and other martyrs of the Telangana statehood movement.Speaking at a round table meeting on “Aspirations of Activists – Achievements” at the Telangana Rakshana Sena office in Banjara Hills on Monday, Kavitha said that despite the Telugu states getting divided , the people remain united without any differences. Alleging that political leaders are trying to dominate by attacking the identity of Telangana, she asserted that only the TRS can protect Telangana’s identity.Countering Pawan Kalyan, who announced holding a massive public meeting in Telangana, and Lokesh, who announced the party’s expansion in Telangana, Kavitha asked whether TDP, Jana Sena, and YSRCP leaders ever said that they would share water equally between the two states. She added that people who have no love for Telangana are trying to do politics here, and warned that people are observing everything.
