Guwahati: BJP’s eight-member ‘intellectual cell’ works as a key input provider for the party, conducting research and surveys — both silent and active — to strengthen organisational dialogue and formulate policies aimed at benefiting people.Dhrubajyoti Prasad Baishya, the convenor of the intellectual cell of the Assam Pradesh BJP, said the cell’s responsibility is to promote intellectual engagement within the party and provide research-based inputs to the party.“The cell has district units as well, which work at the grass-root relentlessly. It does not matter whether there is an election or not. This continuous process helps in detecting the pulse of the people and formulating the policies besides making strategies to go ahead,” he added. Baishya further said that the inputs of the intellectual cell help enormously in preparing the election manifesto also.“The cell reaches out to all segments of the society including the intellectuals, and academicians or the financially weaker section. Each and every segment of a society has different needs, faces different problems or issues, or have different suggestions or opinions regarding the party as well as the BJP-led govt’s plans and policies. Every single information matters for strengthening the party step by step,” he added.Kulendra Daolagapo is co-convenor of the cell. It has six members from different districts – Dilip Kumar Kalita, Kaushik Pal Das and Ranjan Bora from Guwahati, Bhupen Kaman from Lakhimpur Barnalil Saikia Bora from Jorhat and Biraj Nath from Sonitpur.
