Daltonganj: A five-year-old cheetal, which was injured by a pack of feral dogs in the South Division of Palamu Tiger Reserve, was rescued by forest personnel on Monday. “The convalescing cheetal has been kept in an enclosure under close watch of forest guards and trackers,” Kumar Ashish, deputy director of PTR (South), said on Tuesday.Forest officials said the cheetal was attacked by the pack at Jarhee in Maromar area. Bit by dogs in its hind legs, the cheetal managed to escape further attack by running towards the Maromar rest house, where forest personnel intervened and chased the dogs away.
