Info Edge, the parent company of job portal Naukri.com, announced in an exchange filing on Monday that it will acquire edtech platform Coding Ninjas. Additionally, the company informed the bourses that it will commit fresh Rs 180 crore to its startup fund.
Following its board meeting held on Monday, the company said it will acquire the entire remaining shareholding of Sunrise Mentors, which operates the edtech platform Coding Ninjas, from its founders.
Under the deal, Info Edge will purchase 74,741 equity shares at Rs 5,340.23 apiece, for a total consideration of approximately Rs 39.91 crore. The transaction will make Coding Ninjas a wholly owned subsidiary, held directly and through Info Edge’s arm, Startup Investments (Holding).
The company said Naukri and Coding Ninjas can work together by helping job seekers also learn new skills on the edtech platform and expand AI-related courses. The founders will continue with the company as employees, receiving salary and performance-linked incentives.
Separately, the board approved an additional commitment of up to Rs 180 crore to B8 Fund I, a scheme managed by B8 Trust, a Sebi-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund. This is over and above the Rs 250 crore previously committed in February 2026. The fund invests in growth-stage, tech-enabled Indian companies and is sponsored by Info Edge subsidiary Smartweb Internet Services.
