Jaipur: BJP MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar Friday raised concerns in the assembly, alleging that industrial blasting activities are causing cracks in Chittorgarh Fort.Participating in the Budget debate, Singh said Rajasthan is known for its rich culture, history and glorious traditions, and stressed the need to preserve its heritage. “Every city has its own identity. We must protect and preserve that identity,” he said.Referring to environmental concerns, the MLA urged the govt to take concrete steps to protect the Aravalli Range. “Serious efforts are required to save the Aravallis. Illegal mining must be stopped,” he said.Singh added that hills are being cut in large numbers in Nathdwara and called for an investigation into illegal mining activities. “There should be a thorough probe into illegal mines. We need to change our mindset towards the environment. The environment sustains us — we must protect it,” he asserted.
