LUCKNOW: IndiGo will become the first airline to start commercial flight operations from the newly constructed Noida International Airport (NIA) at Jewar, marking a milestone for aviation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR).According to the airline, operations will begin with special inaugural flights on June 15, making IndiGo the launch carrier at the greenfield airport.The airport will be the third operational airport in the NCR, after IGI Airport in Delhi and Hindon Airport, expanding air connectivity for western Uttar Pradesh and easing pressure on Delhi’s existing facilities.
“IndiGo said it will progressively connect Noida International Airport to more than 16 domestic destinations, covering key metro cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, along with tier-2 and tier-3 cities including Lucknow, Amritsar, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Pantnagar, Srinagar, Navi Mumbai and others. Flight bookings are being opened in phases on IndiGo’s website, mobile app and through authorised travel partners,” said the spokesperson.The airline will operate special inaugural services on June 15, starting with an early morning flight from Lucknow to Noida, followed by onward connections to Bengaluru. Return flights on the Bengaluru–Noida–Lucknow sector are also scheduled the same day, formally kick-starting commercial operations at the new airport.From June 15 onwards, IndiGo will introduce daily services on multiple routes, including Noida–Hyderabad and Noida–Amritsar, while additional sectors such as Noida–Jammu and Bengaluru–Noida will be added from June 16.
From July 1, the network will expand further with flights connecting Noida to destinations like Srinagar, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Bareilly, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Pantnagar, Chandigarh and Navi Mumbai.Commenting on the launch, Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer of IndiGo, said the airline was pleased to begin operations from Noida International Airport, calling it a strategically located gateway along the Yamuna Expressway for western Uttar Pradesh and the NCR.
