A 28- year-old Indian-origin man has admitted causing the deaths of a couple in their 60s following a fatal collision on the M4 in west London last month, PTI reported.Maninder Singh Brar pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday to two counts of manslaughter, two counts of causing death while uninsured, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, handling stolen goods and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.The Metropolitan Police said Brar had been driving a black BMW in Hillingdon on the night of June 1 when it collided with a white Volkswagen Golf then left the scene.Emergency responders attended the crash, but 63-year-old Mohammad Hagila died at the scene. His wife, 62-year-old Dil Jan Hagila, who was travelling with him, was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died a few days later.A 29-year-old man was also injured in the incident and taken to hospital. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.Acting Detective Inspector Fiaz Janjua, who is leading the investigation, described the case as “truly tragic” and said Brar’s guilty pleas reflected the seriousness of his actions and their consequences.“Our deepest sympathies and support remain with the family of Mohammed and Dil Jan, who have suffered an unimaginable loss,” Janjua said. He added that the case serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of dangerous driving and its lasting impact on victims, their families and the wider community.Brar was arrested on June 6 and is due to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on August 23.
