AIFF is expected to make an official announcement on Saturday

Panaji: India’s international football friendly against Panama in Bengaluru is likely to be advanced by a day.The first of the three high-profile friendlies against teams that competed at the FIFA World Cup 2026 was scheduled to be played on Sept 26 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. However, according to sources, the match will now be played on Sept 25 due to logistical reasons.“The Bengaluru Marathon is scheduled for Sept 27 and starts at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Logistically, it will be very difficult to manage since the marathon happens the next morning. A day’s gap will be help,” said a source.AIFF is expected to make an official announcement on Saturday.India will play three high-profile friendlies during the Sept 21 to Oct 6 window, starting with the clash against Panama, ranked 44th in the world. Khalid Jamil’s side will then travel to Kolkata for a historic clash against five-time world champions Brazil and two-time World Cup winners Uruguay.
