Gorakhpur: Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) has strengthened its standing among the country’s leading higher educational institutions by securing notable positions in the International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) Rankings 2026. The university secured 51st rank nationally in the Engineering category and 66th rank in the Management category. It also emerged as 9th-ranked institution in UP in both streams. Among state govt technical institutions, MMMUT was placed second, behind HBTU Kanpur, MMMUT informed.According to the rankings, the university recorded strong performances across key assessment parameters. In the Engineering category, it scored 94.26 in Academic Reputation, 97.88 in Graduate Outcome and Employability, 90.79 in Research Outcome, and 95.23 in Wellbeing and Institutional Development, achieving an overall weightage index of 841.11 out of 1,000.In the Management category, it secured an overall weightage index of 784.96. University officials attributed the achievement to sustained improvements in academic quality, research output, innovation, industry collaborations, startup promotion, infrastructure development and placement performance.MMMUT has also expanded its focus on emerging technologies and recently established a Centre of Excellence in advanced science and technology domains.Vice-Chancellor Prof Anupama Kaushik Sharma said the rankings reflected the collective efforts of faculty members, researchers, students, alumni and industry partners. She said the recognition would further motivate the university to strengthen research, innovation and industry engagement while pursuing excellence in technical education and sustainable development.
