Ahmedabad: Compared to 34.2°C on Sunday, the maximum temperature on Monday rose to 36.5°C in the city, a rise of 2.3 degrees in a matter of 24 hours. It was 2.7 degrees higher than normal.On the other hand, the minimum temperature decreased slightly from 21.2°C to 20.5°C in 24 hours. It was 3 degrees higher than normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to increase to 37°C and 21°C on Tuesday.According to the synoptic situation, an upper cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining Gujarat coast persisted on Monday. The state forecast indicated that a gradual rise of 3-5 degrees celsius in maximum temperature during the next three days, and a rise of 2-3 degrees in minimum temperatures during the next 48 hours, was very likely across the region.Hot and humid air is expected from March 4 to 6 in the coastal Saurashtra and Kutch regions, the forecast indicated.At 36.9°C, Deesa had the highest maximum temperature, whereas at 13.4°C, Amreli had the lowest minimum temperature in Gujarat on Monday.
