Panaji: The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Goa, cautioning residents about dry, mainly sunny weather accompanied by heat and humidity over the course of the next two days. According to the forecast, isolated pockets are likely to experience more intense discomfort due to heat stress.With the yellow alert in place, authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, avoid scheduling outdoor activities between 11am and 3pm and to take precautions for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and outdoor workers. A yellow alert signifies “be aware” conditions, urging the public to stay updated and prepared for potentially uncomfortable or mildly hazardous weather, though not extreme enough to cause widespread disruption.Data recorded on April 14 from observatories at Panaji and Mormugao indicate that a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees C was recorded at both locations, which is slightly above normal. The minimum temperatures ranged between 25.8 degrees C and 25.9 degrees C, respectively. Relative humidity levels ranging from 76% to 86% were also recorded.
