The inaugural IMAE Series India karting championship will be held in Coimbatore on Sunday. The opening round of the five-round National Series, promoted by RA Motorsports, will take place at the CoASTT circuit with 34 entries.

The series brings together India’s promising talent on an international-standard platform, utilising internationally acclaimed IAME (Italian American Motor Engineering) power plants across four categories – Mini (u-10), Mini (X30 Water Swift 60cc Engine), Junior (125cc Junior X30 Engine), and Senior (125cc Senior X30 Engine).

The competitive field features, among others, Chennai talents Rehan Khan Rasheed and Asia-Pacific championship gold medallist Aaruthran Prabu, besides the promising Shiv Neel, son of India’s first Formula One driver, Narain Karthikeyan.

The top two finishers in each category at the end of the series will earn the opportunity to represent India at the IAME Asia Finals, scheduled at the Macau International Circuit in December.

RA Motorsports, represented by Rasheed Khan and Dr. Sree Prathap, said in a joint statement: “We are proud to launch the IAME Series India, integrating our country into a global programme active in 48 countries. Our objective is to deliver a professionally managed, sustainable, and internationally aligned series under FMSCI regulations.”
