Chandigarh: More than Rs 400 crore in dues under the Ayushman Bharat scheme are pending in Haryana, with some claims dating back to September 2025, the Haryana chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) claimed on Wednesday while urging chief minister Nayab Singh Saini to intervene. The association said hospitals empanelled under the scheme were facing severe financial strain due to delayed reimbursements.“Payments are supposed to be cleared within 15 days of filing, but even claims from Sept 2025 remain pending. Hospitals are struggling with outstanding dues of more than Rs 400 crore. Queries are put, and even after clearing these queries, payments are not made,” IMA Haryana president Sunila Soni said. She alleged that despite funds being released by the finance department in November, procedural delays had stalled disbursement. She added that many claims under the Chirayu scheme were also pending.Highlighting what the association described as systemic gaps, Yogesh Jindal said there was no full-time CEO of the Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority (HHPA). He said the link officer was trying to manage the work, but limited powers had led to decision-making bottlenecks. The IMA also said empanelment and grievance committees, which were approved by the chief minister in January 2025 with IMA representation, had not yet been operationalised.Urging the chief minister to step in, the association sought early release of payments, appointment of a full-time HHPA CEO and activation of the pending committees.
