Akola: The Chikhli City Police have registered a case against the owner of a petrol pump on Jalna Road for allegedly selling petrol and diesel in open containers.The malpractice came to light after a video surfaced, purportedly showing nearly 200 litres of diesel being sold under unsafe and unauthorised conditions. According to police sources, the alleged incident occurred on March 26.The offence has been registered under Sections 223 and 287 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint filed by Ravindra Sanjay Wagh (38), an employee at the Tehsil Office in Chikhli.Police said strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible for endangering public safety through such negligent practices.
