NOIDA: “I’ll repay all the debts.” This was what 28-year-old Sambhav Jain told his father in a chat before he jumped to his death from the 41st floor of Noida’s Supernova building, with police saying the conversation indicated a monetary issue between the two.According to police, Jain had left his home around three days before the incident and stayed at multiple hotels in different places before checking into an Airbnb apartment at Supernova in Sector 94.Police said they found a conversation between Jain and his father over a monetary issue. His father had reportedly insisted that he return home, but Jain refused, telling him that he would repay all the debts.Jain, a resident of Manesar in Haryana, had come alone to Noida and booked the apartment for a one-day stay, police said.
‘I’m depressed’: What he told AC repair workers
Before the incident, an AC repair team working in a nearby flat spotted Jain hanging from the balcony railing. The workers tried to save him and spoke to him.Jain reportedly told them that he was “depressed” before jumping from the balcony.Police received information about the incident on Saturday morning and reached the Supernova building. The body was sent for postmortem after an inquest report was prepared.
What police are probing
Police and a forensic science laboratory team inspected the scene and collected evidence. CCTV footage from cameras installed at and around the building is also being examined.Police said questioning of people present nearby indicated that Jain was under mental stress. His family members have been informed and further legal proceedings are being carried out.The investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident.
