Patna: Taking a significant step towards the reconstruction of the 834-year-old ancient Ram Janki Mutt located at Raghopur Bakhri village in Sitamarhi district, a team of experts led by IIT Patna director T N Singh on Wednesday carried out a detailed inspection of the site and investigated the details of its physical state.During the visit, the expert team observed the geographical and structural conditions of the site and analysed its technical aspects related to the reconstruction and future development of the site. Furthermore, detailed discussions were also held regarding the technical recommendations necessary to ensure the successful and sustainable long-term development of the project.Established in the 12th century, this religious structure features a 14-quintal bell that historically echoed across 15 to 20 villages in the region. The mutt sits in a revered region inextricably tied to the Ramayana epic. Emphasising the institute’s commitment to the project, Singh said that the institute has been consistently providing technical guidance and expert support to the Ramayan Research Council since the beginning.The restoration work for this historic site, undertaken under the auspices of the Research Council, is scheduled to commence on July 29, 2026.
