Chennai: IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation and SWAYAM Plus, an initiative of the Ministry of Education implemented through IIT Madras, have launched a 100-hour programme covering multi-cloud computing and cloud security.
The Multi-Cloud Foundation with Security Programme is designed for students, graduates, working professionals and others seeking foundational skills in cloud computing. The curriculum will cover Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, along with cloud security.
The programme will follow a vendor-neutral approach, introducing common cloud concepts before demonstrating their implementation across the three cloud platforms. It will include live online sessions, practical labs and a two-day immersive component at the IIT Madras campus.
The first batch is scheduled to begin on September 10. Applications will close on September 9.
Learners will be introduced to areas including cloud computing and multi-cloud concepts, compute, storage and networking, identity and access management, databases, cloud cost management and multi-cloud architecture.
The security component will cover areas such as threat detection, identity and access management, encryption, compliance, security monitoring and incident response.
According to the programme organisers, prior knowledge of basic infrastructure concepts, including CPU, memory, networking and TCP/IP, is recommended.
The batch size will be limited because of the campus immersion component. The top 5% of performers will receive placement support, according to the organisers.
Prof V Kamakoti, director, IIT Madras, said the programme would combine training across multiple cloud ecosystems with exposure to cloud security.
Prof R Sarathi, dean (planning), IIT Madras and coordinator of SWAYAM Plus, said the programme brings AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and cloud security into a single structured course.
The programme also provides learners with a campus immersion at IIT Madras as part of the course.
IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation is the technology innovation hub of IIT Madras and works in areas including emerging technologies, research, innovation and skilling.
SWAYAM Plus is a Ministry of Education initiative implemented through IIT Madras that offers industry-oriented and employability-focused courses.
The first batch of the programme begins on September 10, with applications closing on September 9.
