Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) has signed an MoU with French community-based mobility platform BlaBlaCar. This agreement was inked as part of the Bharat Innovates initiative in France during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit there.IIT-Gn director Rajat Moona, told TOI, “The collaboration is about smart mobility and use of AI in transportation systems and sustainability solutions.”The international collaborations at Nice, France, also included an MoU with ECE Engineering School in Paris for academic cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and innovation initiatives. Another MoU was with Compilatio, Europe’s leading platform for AI-content detection and plagiarism prevention “to advance academic integrity, responsible AI adoption, digital assessment frameworks, and research in AI-enabled education”.A release by IIT-Gn on Tuesday stated declaration of intent on June 14 between the IITs, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Udice, a consortium of 13 leading French research-intensive universities.Moona was the signee for participating Indian institutions, while Jeanick Brisswalter, president of Universite Cote d’Azur, represented the Udice network.“The initiative opens up exciting opportunities for our students, faculty and researchers to learn from each other and work on problems of shared interest,” said Moona.The partnership is intended to encourage exchange of students, faculty and researchers, joint research projects, academic collaborations, publications, conferences and other collaborative endeavours, said officials, for participating institutions including IIT-Gn.
