Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has launched a two-year Executive MBA at its Dubai campus, expanding its portfolio of programmes for working professionals in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
The programme is designed for senior professionals seeking to build leadership and strategic capabilities while continuing in their careers. It will focus on cross-functional decision-making, enterprise leadership and the use of technology and artificial intelligence in business.
The programme will run across six terms and combine in-person weekend classes at the Dubai campus with a seven-day residency at IIMA’s Ahmedabad campus and an international immersion. Participants will also undertake a faculty-supervised executive capstone project.
The launch marks the third programme offered by IIMA through its Dubai campus. Its existing offerings include a one-year MBA and a General Management Programme.
“Professionals today are expected to lead with strategic depth and a global outlook, yet most learning formats are not designed for someone already holding that responsibility,” said Prof Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad.
“The executive blind spot is real; leaders are expected to acquire new capabilities but cannot step away from the roles they have worked hard to earn. That is exactly what we are building for,” he added.
The programme’s curriculum incorporates artificial intelligence and technology-led business decision-making, with case-based learning aimed at developing enterprise-wide leadership capabilities.
IIMA said the programme is particularly relevant to professionals whose roles span India and Gulf markets, as business linkages between the two regions continue to grow.
The Executive MBA is being supported by global education company Emeritus for outreach and awareness, while academic delivery and faculty operations are led by IIMA’s Dubai campus.
Candidates applying to the programme must have at least six years of post-graduation work experience, including three years in a managerial or leadership role. Applicants are required to submit scores from the IIMA Admission Test, GMAT Focus, Executive Assessment or GRE as part of the admissions process.
