Prayagraj: The 28th Foundation Day of Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) was celebrated on Wednesday, with faculty members, staff, students, alumni and distinguished guests joining the celebrations. The institute announced that Foundation Day would henceforth be observed as ecognition Day’ to acknowledge its achievements and contributions.Addressing the gathering, IIIT-A director Prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone said the institute had undertaken several major research projects, outreach programmes and academic and technological initiatives over the past three years, further strengthening its position as a leading institution in information technology and allied fieldsHe urged the Gen Z to give equal importance to human values and ethics while pursuing technological advancement. The guest of honour, N Subramanian, director of Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), Chennai, spoke about the emerging innovation ecosystem and developments in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for 6G networks.Students who brought laurels to the institute were felicitated, while best-performing Class IV employees were also honoured for their dedicated service. The celebrations concluded with a cultural programme presented by students.
