Palanpur: The murder of a 42-year-old IIFL Finance branch manager, whose body was found in his car on a road near Prantij earlier this week, was allegedly plotted by a woman and her lover, apparently because they didn’t want to repay the loans taken from his company and wanted the pledged gold ornaments back.Prantij police and the Sabarkantha Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested Bhavna alias Bhavu Thakor, a resident of Prantij, while her accomplice and lover Yogeshji Thakor, a resident of Mansa, is yet to be arrested.The deceased, Bharatb Chaudhary, was the manager of IIFL Finance’s Mansa branch. On Sept 2, his body was found inside a white WagonR with his throat slit.Police had registered a murder case at Prantij police station.During questioning, Bhavna told police that she had been in a relationship with Yogesh for around seven years. Bhavna had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from Chaudhary, while Yogesh had taken separate loans totalling Rs 4.5 lakh. The accused allegedly wanted to recover the gold ornaments they had pledged against the loans without repaying the money.According to police, Bhavna called Chaudhary on Sept 2, asking him to come to Prantij to collect money. Yogesh picked him up from the Mansa branch in the car and brought him to Prantij, where Bhavna joined them. The two took him towards Vadvasar on the Himmatnagar-Mansa road, where Yogesh allegedly slit his throat with a sharp weapon inside the car.After Chaudhary died, the accused drove the car towards Limla-Vadvasar and Karol. The vehicle reportedly got stuck by the roadside, following which the duo abandoned it with the body inside and fled.Police said the murder was detected within hours after teams formed by the LCB, SOG and Prantij police received information about Bhavna’s whereabouts through human intelligence. She was traced to a house in Prantij and detained.
