The department of school education was elated at the results, calling it “historic”. The department released 10 action-points it had taken to improve the results.* All govt PU colleges were asked to ensure completion of the syllabus by the end of Dec. *Guest lecturers were appointed from June 1 to ensure human resources were available from the beginning of the academic year. *The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board released a detailed blueprint along with model question papers for each subject, offering clarity on exam patterns, weightage, and key focus areas for students and lecturers. However, many have pointed out that the board exam papers closely mirrored the model questions, leaving little room for critical thinking. *Comprehensive question banks for all subjects were prepared and hosted on the department’s website.*Two-day training programmes were conducted for all govt PU lecturers at District Institutes of Education and Training. *Online training programme was conducted to guide lecturers on effective utilisation of question banks and blueprints. * Focused interventions in Kalyana Karnataka region. *In a first, preparatory exams conducted using centrally prepared question papers, ensuring standardisation in assessment. *Statewide academic monitoring through audio conferences. *Lecturers responsible for exceptionally poor academic performance are being subjected to departmental action. *A mega parents-teachers meeting helped engage parents in the academic progress of students.
