Hyderabad: Unknown offenders sent a bomb threat email to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday, prompting police to conduct a thorough check of the IMD office at Begumpet and later declare the threat a hoax.According to police, at 7 am an email from ‘ajitham.kuduma@outlook.com’ landed in IMD Hyderabad’s official email ID. In the email, the sender claimed that 14 RDX bombs had been placed at the Hyderabad IMD office.One of the IMD employees noticed the mail and immediately alerted senior officials and the police.At around 10 am, Begumpet police, along with the bomb disposal squad, conducted a thorough search of the IMD office. “During the search, we did not find any explosive substances. It was a hoax threat email. We have received a complaint from IMD officials, and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the BNS. After the check, IMD staff resumed their duties,” said Begumpet inspector P Saidulu.tnn
