Times News NetworkChandigarh: Despite a forecast of rain, the sun shone bright on Tuesday, making the day a bit too warm for comfort.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, two degrees above normal. The minimum settled at 23.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.High humidity added to the discomfort. The city recorded 89% maximum relative humidity, while the minimum relative humidity was 57%.The city’s seasonal rainfall deficit stood at 14.4%, with cumulative rainfall since June 1 reaching 658.1mm till 8:30am on Tuesday. No rain was recorded in Chandigarh between 8:30am and 5:30pm.For the Tricity, the IMD has forecast mainly clear skies on September 9 and 10, with maximum temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius on both days. On September 11 and 12, the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 35 degrees Celsius before dropping to 33 degrees Celsius on September 13. The minimum temperature is likely to remain between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius during the period.The broader forecast indicates isolated rain activity over Chandigarh during the coming days. For the next three days, however, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear.
