Vadodara: Raopura police have registered a cheating case against an employee of Laxmi Vilas Palace (LVP) Banquets and Conventions, a hotel run by the Gaekwad family, for allegedly failing to submit bills and deposit payments collected from customers.The accused, Pulak Maiti, had joined LVP in 2023 and was later assigned to the billing department of the hotel’s Gujarati Thali restaurant.According to the complaint, 104 customers dined at the restaurant on July 26, but bills were generated for only 87 of them. During an internal investigation, the management allegedly found that Maiti had failed to submit bills and deposit payments received from customers on multiple occasions.The management called Maiti for a meeting in July to seek an explanation, but he allegedly failed to appear. Following this, the hotel filed a police complaint, alleging that he had siphoned off approximately Rs 54,000.Raopura police have registered an FIR and are investigating the case.
