Srinagar, Aug 27: Hot and humid weather is likely to continue across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar.
The weather department said that from August 27 to 30, the region is expected to remain generally hot and humid, with brief spells of rain or thundershowers at scattered places.
On August 31 and September 1, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at many places, with brief intense showers possible during the early morning and afternoon hours.
From September 2 to 7, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, although brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered places during the early morning and afternoon hours.
The Meteorological Centre has advised caution as brief intense showers at localised areas on August 31 and September 1 may trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised that they may continue harvesting and other agricultural operations.
The weather department has urged people, particularly those living in or travelling through vulnerable and hilly areas, to remain alert during periods of intense rainfall.
